Separated At Birth?

Both Richard Nixon and Stephen Harper certainly seem to have been raised with the same bedtime story, and to have taken it at face value.

  1. Although Nixon actually passed significant environmental legislation. It's pretty sad that Richard Nixon looks good by comparison.

  2. These guys always seem to have a flaw (I won't call it tragic, for reasons an English teacher such as you would understand, Marie), frequently fueled by an insatiable paranoia.

  3. We need John Dean in the PMO who can expose Stephen " I am not a crook" Harper.

I should add that Nixon's foreign policy was very good as he brought China into the world community in addition to what Marie Snyder wrote above. In that sense Nixon's administration had a few merits compared to this Machiavellian.

    1. That is so true, LeDaro. He ultimately had a very good and realistic understanding of the world, but unfortunately, that could not compensate for his failings, failings which, I fear in these debased times, would simply be regarded a quaint and not result in the fall of a president.
