Seeing The Light

This is nothing like a reformed evangelical who has seen the light:
Appearing on MSNBC’s AM Joy, former evangelical – and son a a famous pastor — angrily tore into the Republican party for backing “rape, child molesting and neo-Nazis,” in a furious broadside.

Speaking with host Joy Reid, former Christian evangelical Frank Schaeffer was clearly enraged at the continued candidacy of Judge Roy Moore who has been accused of sexually assaulting four women when they were in their teens and he was in his thirties.

  1. Lorne it's difficult to believe this is really happening in America today. It's difficult to believe this isn't all some bad dream that will end with the rising of the sun. We, more so Americans, should be so grateful for people such as Joy Reid.

    1. When I see that kind of hard hitting journalism, Mound, I am kept from complete despair. Have you heard the latest from alleged molester and Republican candidate Roy More? He says he never dated teenagers without their mothers' permission. A stout defence that will surely please his constituency, no doubt.

  2. .. earlier today I unloaded on an American, stating & later defending how she would rather vote for a child molester anyday.. than a Democrat.. due to the usual twisted partisan pus sack 'reasoning'.. and that only Democrats could & would find fault with her position.

I let her know I was a Canadian.. and neither Dem or Republican.. and a lifelong non-partisan. As well, that her bizarre and extremist willingness to accomodate sexual assault was lower in value than a septic tank in regard to social values.. and to seek help, ideally from someone with a backhoe. I found I was not alone.. and suspect that most other similar comments were from Americans .. These are the kind of rancid folk the police should be dropping in on.. just to see who they are.. and if they have weapons or explosives.. or if their mother is buried in the backyard

    1. We seem to have entered The Twilight Zone, Salamander, as Mound's comment implies. These people need to be challenged and denounced at every opportunity. I don't see how any rapprochement with them is possible.

  3. William Golding had something to say about societies which descend into tribalism, Lorne.
